So fit comes first, and I plan on evaluating that early tomorrow. Having said that I’m still in the market for a good entry level TT bike, and I can pick up a new 2013 B16 for $1400 tomorrow. On all the reviews Ive read this seems to be a great deal for an entry level bike. Wondering if any of ya’ll ride/have rode it and could share feedback. Nothing too specific, just overall if you feel it was a good investment and why.
Again…fit comes first so I’m shopping around tomorrow…but it’s a pretty great deal on this bike so I’d love some feedback if any is out there.
Cheers
*edited because I f’d up typing the year (2103 originally).
My first TT bike was a 2009 Felt B-16 I raced it up till this year. I really liked the bike. I really believe you get the most for your $ with Felt bikes . I have a new 2013 B-12 now and like it even better. But back to your ? At that price and if it fits you that’s a very good deal and a super entry level bike.
I agree - I think that’s great value. I ride a 2012 B16, and I’ve been very happy with it. At the time I bought it, it seemed to offer the best value for money amongst its competitors. The wheels are fine for training, but it somehow feels faster and more responsive with my race wheels on, and I replaced the crankset with a compact Ultegra. Other than that, I’ve left it as stock, and couldn’t be happier.
Put some good wheels on that bike with the money you saved and you’ll be race ready. I put some used Bontrager Aeloues 5’s from Craigslist and knocked at least 15 minutes off my HIM times.
great feedback all, thanks so much. I was late to the party on the correct size, though I did get fitted so I know the b16 would work well for me. Looking at a 2014 for 1700…not as much as a hot deal considering the downgrade to 105, but still thinking this is the bike for me.
I’ve researched as much as I can on the 2014 B16, still looks to be a solid carbon frame worthy of racing and upgrading over the next few years. Any thoughts?
I promise this is the last time I lean on ya’ll so much for feedback on a bike purchase. It’s just my first TT bike and I am looking at entry level, so this seems to be a great solution but would love any and all feedback.

heck, grab the 2013 for $1400. it’s the same frame and you get Ultegra. I’m riding that frame in B10 guise. There are more aero bikes out there, but it’s still pretty good, has a great road feel, and is a very well sorted out bike. There are ‘better’ bikes out there, but none for anywhere near that price. Felt does a great job.
I ride a 2013 B16. The wheels are not that great but for the price you cant find a carbon tri bike that matches it. I upgraded to cheaper aeros (planet X) and noticed a difference right away. Mine of course has the Ultegra, they went 105 for 2014 to bring the price down. Even with 105 this is a solid bike. I have no shame racking next to high dollar rigs and have less motoring past them on the bike leg.
I’m riding the same 2013 Felt B16 as my first Tri bike I bought last March and love it. I was sold on it because of the ultegra. When I was looking at options it was the best bang for your buck.
Would 100% go for the 2013 over the 2014 less price and better components.
As I read it they don’t have his size for the 1.3k anymore.
But I can agree with anyone says, best bang for the buck what felt is doin. I grabbed a B10 1 1/2 years ago at 35% off! love the bike.
No super bike but with px wheels not really slow at all.
