Hey everyone I hope all is well. I need your opinion. I have still not got fitted on 2012 Cervelo P2 58 cm ultegra. I am 6 foot tall and have a 32in inseam. I have felt all along that it might be a little long for me. I found a 56 cm 2011 Specialized Transition Expert ultegra that . What are your thoughts on a Specialized Transition verses the Cervelo P2. Also keep consideration of the sizes. Thanks for the feedback.
I’m 6’1" with a 32in inseam and used to ride a size 56 2012 P2. After my wreck cracked the fame, my fitter strongly suggested moving up to a 58 on the replacement and I have been nothing but happy. 6’ with a 32inseam is fairly short legs for someone your height, the Cervelo should fit you almost perfectly if fitted correctly. Can’t comment on the Specialized.
I have never owned a P2, but I did ride a 2011 Transition. Not a bad bike at all. Very aero, maybe a little heavier than some, but overall a nice bike. I rode XL, 6’2" with 35" inseam.
Why did you go with the 58?
I’m 5’11 with a 32 inseam and ride a 54 on '13 P2… could have possibly gotten away with a 56, but like the slightly smaller frame.
58 seems like it would indeed be way too long.
I have a 56 cm specialized roubaix. I felt like with a 58 cm I could stretch out more. I feel like I maybe a little to streched out.
I ride a 2011 Specialized Transition Comp. I’m 6’1" and have a 32" inseam and it fits me well.
I’m 5’11" and ride a 08 P2C. Fits well.
I have a 2011 transition expert. I am 6’ with a 33" inseam. I have disproportionally short arms and torso compared to others my height, and as such wanted a steeper fitting bike. I am on the zero setback seatpost which you will find increasingly difficult to source uncut. I also got the stem slammed, but I had to find a warranty part that was very very hard to track down. The bike itself is fantastic, but I did a lot of work to make it fit me properly. If I’m not mistaken the cervelo is a long and short frame, vs the transition which is relatively tall and narrow. Others would be able to comment more on that, but if you are built like me, with long legs, the transition might be a good choice for you.
Oh, i ride the large. I considered an XL, but the reach was on the long side.
Thank you for the feed back. I did a 42 mile ride today. I just feel like I have to move my seat up further cause i am reaching toward the aero bars. I am going to test ride the 56 cm expert.
Are you buying from a shop, craigslist? Obviously these are used and local. I think the key decider is fit, and it is hard to know if the problem is the bike or how it is set up.
I ride a 2011 Specialized Transition Comp. I’m 6’1" and have a 32" inseam and it fits me well.
What size frame? I have a Spec Transition Comp Large / 52.6 cm, and I’m 6’ with 32" inseam. 2 fitters told me it was too small but could make it fit with new seat post, stem, etc.
Mine is a Large 2011 Comp too. My fitter didn’t have any problems with fit.
