2011 Trivents

Anyone have these? Do they fit similar to the 2010’s or 2009’s the 2010s seem to be about a half size smaller than the 09’s. Now that they put that loop back on them i’m gonna pick up a pair.

One word - S-works. Best shoes ever.

I am also interested, I tried on the 2010’s and they did seem smaller. I also saw that they have two models of the trivents now, one with a carbon sole and one with a plastic sole for cheaper that you can use MTB cleats on.

I was also very happy to see the big new loop on the back. I’ll be due for some new ones soon.

If i was doing road or long course sure. For tris the one strap is the best.

Yeah… i’m not sure who’s bright idea it was to take it away but obviously a bunch of people bitched about it. Thats the only reason I didn’t get a new pair last year was because of no loop.

I just got the 2011 Trivents. I have the Sworks shoe as well. The Trivent feels a tiny it smaller than my 2010 Sworks shoe. At first I thought they were too small but now that I’ve worn them for about a month, they seem to fit well, just needed a it of break in perhaps.

Repeat of sak35 response- felt a little tight when brand new. 3 rides later and they fit just about perfect. What a relief- after training/racing in TriVents for the past 6 years, I was really disappointed with the 2010 shoe fit- narrow and short. The 2011 shoe is finally a great replacement to the 2007-2009 shoe that was ideal for my rotund size 13 hoofs. Do it.

anyone have second thoughts on the 2011 “white”?

i am hesitant because i don’t want them to look bad after a few months of riding!

So you would say they fit the same as the 07-09? thats what I am still using

The white should be fine, thats what they have all been and mine still don’t look bad.

No, they do not fit the same. They are more snug and stay snug even after a 5 hour sweaty Florida ride. The inside of the shoe (sides and top only) definitely has more cushioning and the new padding across the main strap is a life saver. Plenty of room in the toe box. The bottom has the same insole so no difference in power transfer or stiffness.
I do not like the white. But I will admit that it is holding up really well after 3 weeks of 3-4 rides per week.

Remember that the S-works was made with the thought that you’ll be wearing sock…maybe even padded socks. The Tri-vent (I would assume) is made with the presumption that you won’t be wearing sox. Just sayin’…that might account for the slight variance in sizing.

I have the 2010 Specialized Pro Road Shoes size 45 that ive worn all season and fit is great with socks, just got 2011 trivents in 45 and fit is uncomfortably tight with no socks and not going to risk seeing if they break in or stretch, going to have LBS get me 45.5. Hope this helps!

I love my s-works shoes. Best shoes ever made. Looked at the tri-vent this year, but was baffled that they didn’t have a heel loop.

Would anyone know about “wide” sizing? My current shoe is a Sidi Genius5 Mega 46.5 – the wide model. Does Specialized have wide sizing? Is it needed?

Yup same here I have used trivents since they came out and needed a new pair since they just get gross riding and doing tris in barefeet looked at this years model and was quite confused as to why they would remove one of the most important parts of a tri shoe.

2010 Trivent did not have a heel loop, the 2011 Trivent’s DO have the heel loop. FYI

I know… Hence the reason I said now that they have the loop back I gonna pick up a pair in my OP

Completely agree. So glad the 2011 brought back the loop. I have the 2009 and skipped the 2010 b/c of the no loop.

I am ready for a new pair. My current pair are BRUTAL given all the racing and training in bare feet. Seriously, I get a little nauseous when I get close to them as I put them on …

Too funny- my 09’s are so foul that my wife banned them from first the house, then the garage, now they are in a plastic bag outside of the garage. I am trying to keep them as backup (IMFL in 4 weeks) just in case, but it ain’t looking good. If she was brave enough to touch them, they would be gone for sure.
