HISTORY: During the fall of 2010, Ben Serotta personally designed this Serotta Meivici AE for me to ride in the 2011 Master National Time Trial Championships. In early 2011, the bike was assembled and finished in the Serotta facility in Saratoga Springs, NY. DESIGN: The bike is all carbon with tapered “Torsion Core” carbon tubing designed by handmade by Mike Lopez (and his crew) in Serotta’s Poway carbon composite facility. The MeiVici AE features a seat tube angle-specific rear wheel cut out and an innovative aero seatpost for maximum aerodynamics and weight savings. If you know frame design, carbon tubing, and bike manufacturing, then you know that Ben Serotta, Mike Lopez and the Serotta team are the premier builders in the high-performance bike niche! SIZE: This Serotta is a 59cm equivalent. Because of Serotta’s unique “low profile” seatpost construction, the head and seat tubes are shorter than a normal 59cm. It measures a 55cm seat tube (the seat post mast converts the bike to a 59cm equivalent) and 51cm top tube. I can provide you my fit sheet from which the bike was built. I am 6’1" and raced at 198lbs. For the right rider, this bike fits like a glove. FIT: There were two fits along the way to the final bike design. The original was in early 2009 when I first started my comeback. The final was in early 2011 when I went to Serotta to pick up the completed bike. Of course, over time, I was able to develop a much more aggressive position (2009-2011) which affected the frame design. I competed using this final fit. You can message me and I will message you the links. If you have questions on the fit sheets, let me know. Both fits influenced the bike design but it was the final fit position that Ben used to design the frame. EQUIPMENT: Serotta F4 fork. SRAM TRUVATIV GXP® Bottom Bracket. SRAM Red Crankset 177.5mm. I am including chainrings 58-44 but have others that I could swap out. SRAM Red Rear Derailleur. Shimano 105 Front Derailleur. SRAM Red Brake Set. Cane Creek ZS-3 Headset. Note that The AE is Serotta’s first bike with an integrated headset—and a tapered steerer tube, 1.5 to 1.125 inches. 3T RRX-Team Stem (130mm). HED Corsair Aero Bars with HED Stems and ZIPP Shifters. Selle Italia Triathlon USA Saddle. The bike is shown with one of two sets of the aero wheels I own. FINISH: As hard as I tried, my pictures do not do the finish justice! Serotta always did an amazing job in designing, building and finishing their frames. This Meivici AE had a $1500 finish upgrade. The upgrade included two paint colors and a clear coat top finish giving a deep transparent ruby red carbon matte and gold solid custom finish. How Serotta did it, I don’t know but the carbon matte is visible in the ruby red areas covered by the clear coat. In the sunlight, it is stunningly deep, clear and full of texture. When I was in race parking lots or on the start line, I got lots of inquiries about the finish. I wish I had more details for you but, alas, all the paperwork that came with the bike does not offer too many finish details. WHEELS: I can offer you one (or both) of two wheel sets that I used in 2011: ZIPPs or HEDs. I used them for different purposes such as wind, road conditions and race type. The bike is shown with the ZIPPs but you can choose whichever set you prefer. Please see below for details: Set 1 - ZIPP Tubular Carbon Time Trial or Triathlon Wheel Set: This is a “used five times” set of Time Trial wheels. These were my time trial wheels during the 2011 racing season. I used them to win three state time trial championships and 1-2 days per month of training. They consist of a ZIPP Disc rear and ZIPP 1080 front, Zipp front hub and a Powertap SL+ rear hub, a SRAM Red cassette 11-23, front tire Zipp Tangente 700x21, rear tire Zipp Tangente 700x21. Set 2 - HED Tubular Carbon Time Trial or Triathlon Wheel Set: This is a “used only once” set of Time Trial wheels - I bought them specifically for the 2011 National Masters National Time Trial Race. Once that race was completed on 8/31/11, they have been in the wheel bags ever since. The set consists of a HED Stinger Disc rear and HED H3 front (seen in one of the listing photos). The rear hub has a Powertap SLC+ rear hub. All bearings have been upgraded to BOCA Ceramic Bearings. The set includes a Shimano Durace cassette (11-21). The front tire is a Bontrager Race Lite Pro 700x22 and the rear tire is a Bontrager Race Lite Pro 700x23. If you want both sets of aero wheels at time of bike purchase, I will include the 2nd set for an additional $1400. CONDITION: This bike is definitely “like new.” I received it in March 2011 and began riding it in April 2011. I used another Serotta bike set up to the same measurements/position to train on so this Serotta AE was exclusively reserved for racing. Between April 2011 and the 2011 Masters TT Nationals, I raced on it three times: GA, TN, and SC State Time Trial 40k Championships. After Nationals, the bike was serviced in September 2011 and has not been ridden since.WHY I CHOSE SEROTTA: As I prepared for the 2011 TT Nationals, I became convinced that effective delivery of power from pedals to road, a well-made frame that reduced fatigue, and an aero design were the three keys to winning speed. Ben Serotta and his crew are world-renowned for designing and producing a bike that masters those three features. Lastly, after meeting the Serotta craftsmen, I knew they were authentic, more than “marketing hype,” and that I was going to get what I was promised. I seriously tested over ten “top-of-the-line frames” until I settled on the Serotta Meivici AE. WHY I AM SELLING: I love this bike, it is super fast, has an incredible feel at full power, and is truly a one-of-a-kind creation by Ben Serotta and his team of craftsmen. Regrettably, I am no longer able to compete in Time Trials due to health reasons. I must let this beauty go to its next owner. I am happy to help you in any way you might need to determine if this bike is for you. I have lots of additional detailed photos I can send you and am available to answer any questions you might have.

This Bike is sold as is. If you have questions, please do not hesitate to contact me. I will do my very best to help you!
AK, HI, PR, and International Buyers are welcome! But, please know I am only paying for shipping costs to the lower 48 States. Shipping large, expensive items like this bicycle to AK, HI, PR, or an international location, adds so many variables that it is too complicated to easily tell you upfront what the shipping costs will be. If you win the auction, I will work with the local UPS Store and Shipping Center to let you know what your additional shipping costs and documentation requirements will be.
