So, who is going to be the first kid on the block with a new frame? Any further update as to when Trek, Specialized or Scott will make their new uber TT/Triathlon bikes or frames available? Seems like a fair price compated to the P4, but than again the above price is based upon the dollar fluctuation. I wonder what actual U.S. retail is?
I guess we can let everyone else debate “fastest”, but for the price when compared to the “Cervelo” standard it certainly seems like Cervelo has been caught sleeping. Perhaps they felt like they were “too big to fail” given their past success. For the price it certainly seems like a better “value” vs. a P3 ($3,300 Frameset without any bells or whistles) and a steal compared to the P4…just my $0.02.
Any idea if Giant has posted on stack or reach measurements anywhere? I remember Specialzied had provided frame sizes for the Shiv.

Except that the P3 is a proven consumer product with years on the market and lots wins, plus you can pick up a frameset on eBay for a little as $1500. The whole comparison is pretty humorous to me, because the Giant frame looks like a P3 clone outside of the nosecone.
did I miss some data showing that this giant trinity bike is substantively faster than a P3C?
I mean it might be, hell if I know, but before declaring it the fatestt bike under $4k…

Trouble is as more bikes go with more integration the waters get pretty muddy. I’m pretty certain the Giant is more aero than some of the P3s I’ve seem with wierd stem/aerobar, brake set ups. Whether its more aero than a P3 set up well is certainly open for debate.
a p3 with a weird stem setup will be a giant with an ever WEIRDER setup.
weird brake set up?
the giant has that from the factory =)

Didn’t say it was the fastest…but, I would debate whether or not it is still “worth” it’s price of $3,300 as a frameset? I would agree, as a used frame it provides good value, but only if it fits.
well given that, as far as we know it could either be faster than everything else still, or slower
i can’t see how we can debate anything meaningfully =)
at worst its slower than a more expensive frame
which, is NORMAL
lol

but one correction about the brakes, they are not designed by giant, they are designed by and sourced from feather brakes. as far as i know, feather brakes is the first company to make a clever high-quality a “mirror image” caliper brake (which is used under the BB of the Giant to avoid striking the cranks or chainrings).
One reason that Cervelo may appear to have been “caught sleeping” is that it looked for quite a while (and still may be up in the air) about whether or not the UCI was going to allow those nosecone bikes. When you consider the trouble the UCI gave Cervelo about the P4’s water bottle, there’s just no making sense of it. But it was widely felt that the UCI was going to ban the nosecone design, which may have influenced Cervelo’s design decisions re: the P4.
