2007 Litespeed

Wow… only 10 models and the venerable Tuscany, Ultimate, Tanasi and Pisgah are gone?! Sniff, sniff!

I do have to say that the differences are a lot less confusing now, unlike the past few years where there were so many models ('06 19 models, '05 20 models, '04 24 models) I was never sure how one was much different from the other.

Now it looks like you have the Vortex (which I assume is still 6Al/4V), and then the Siena is the 3Al/2.5V version of the Vortex, then the superlight Ghisallo (allegedly sanded-down 3Al/2.5V) and the Ardennes is the less lightweight regular 3Al/2.5V version of the Ghisallo.

In tri bikes the 3Al/2.5V Saber looked more and more like the Blade each year (with it’s tubes getting larger while the Blade’s tubes got smaller) so I guess the 6Al/4V Blade has gone full custom and the Saber is now the stock tri bike. Guessing also that Litespeed is marketing Litespeed as the Road/Mountain bike company and QR being the Tri company so the TiPhoon is Ti tri bike for the steeply-inclined

Mountain bikes… Obed looks like the 3Al/2.5V trail or all-mountain bike and the Ocoee the 3Al/2.5V XC bike. Sewanee the XC FS bike and the Niota the trail or all-mountain FS bike… not sure if they’re 3Al/2.5V of if the Niota is 6Al/4V and 3Al/2.5V like before.

Marketing-wise I think overall it’s a good move. although I’m surprised no cyclocross or touring-type bike considering how popular CX has become and how perfect a Ti frame is for that!

Actually, the Saber has a steeper STA (78 deg across the line) than any of the QR bikes which is great for those of us over 5’4" that would like to ride steep.

I had to order my Tuscany on- line yesterday 06 model. I could not find my size 53cm at LBS’S. “I think” you can still coustom order what you want. I’m sure Herbert will post.
