I am in the process of building up a 2005 Litespeed Blade (49cm). I would like some opinions on which fork to choose from…
Oval Concepts A900
Easton EC90 Aero
Reynolds Ouzo Pro Aero
The rest of the setup is possible
Campy Record/Chorus Bar-End Shifter
Campy Record/Chorus Front and Rear D
Campy Record/Chorus Crank
Oval Concepts A900 or HED Aerobars
Zero Gravity OG-05 Ti or Campy Record/Chours Brake Calipers
Stem is still up in the air and possibly based on the fork chosen.
Thanks….
Oval Concepts A900
The rest
On a high tech Tru bike - Shimano Dura Ace.
On an italian road bike Campagnolo.
Zero Gravity ? According to RecordCarbon10 it is a waste of money. They look fantastic go for it.
Oval A900 Fork and Bars.
Personally, I’d vote for Dura-ace over Campy on a Litespeed, but if you must…
Campy Record through-out with campy carbon cranks.
Stem could either be syntace 99, or an Oval in dripping gloss red.
What kind of wheels are you planning?
Is there a reason why Dura-Ace is better on a Litespeed?
I love the red on the Oval. I am leaning towards Oval bar and stem.
Wheels…I was thinking the 4 spoke Xlab for Clydesdales or Zipps 404 Clydesdales
Can you tell that I am a Clydesdale
I wanted to go with Campy for the Compact Crank. Is the FSA SLK Compact a good crank with Dura Ace?
Nope. Purely style preference.
I’ll bet that bike would look kick-ass with a set of Xlab 4’s.
Do post pics when it’s done.
FSA is good for both Campagnolo and Shimano.
They have computed the average width (between the two) as explained on their site (fullspeedahead.com ).
I have the FSA compact on my S-Works fast commuter. With Shimano 10speed. Works superb.
I will post pics once it is complete…it could be awhile but will do…
FRM makes a brake caliper that is just as light and half the price called the CL2-ti. I have a set on my Isaac Joule.

Reynolds fork, I loved mine.
Save your money and go with the Oval A700 bar. You can buy on eBay for about $200. Here is a link to a set.

Save your money even further and buy a QR Kilo on ebay.
Or spend the same amount of money, and then mail me the blade, and I’ll send you a one of a kind built kilo.

I also recommend the Reynold Pro fork - tried and true (especially if you are a Clydesdale). Sounds like that is going to be one sweet ride though.
Oh, and Dura Ace (and I’ve got both Record and DA on bikes)
The FRM single pivot design based upon the Cane Creek BRS 200. These are light and less expensive than the Zero Gravity but not the same stopping power as a dual pivot brake.

Also, you can’t go wrong with the Ritchey WCS or Synace stems. Light, not too flexible and not expensive.
What is your Record/Dura Ace setup?
Where in the US did you get the FRMs?
