In the interest of celebrating quantity over quality, my 2004 totals:
Swim: 454790 yards / 252.7 miles
Bike: 3918.5 miles
Run: 1608 miles
How about you?

Swim: 520.7 km
Bike: 10,360 km
Run: 1782 km
Hours: 670 hs
Thought I had at least close to 800 hours until I saw this. Very upsetting. So yesterday I logged 4 hs as a good way to start the year.
Happy 2005,
My totals would be …
swim: not enough
bike: the most I’ve ever done
run: adequate but not excessive
I have been pondering keeping a training log again after a 10 year break from using one. I find that when I write everything down I can get overly obsessive-compulsive about filling in the totals and not writing zero days into my log. When I used to write all the workouts down the log would rule my life ![]()
I only temporarily log run miles (with a looming marathon or IM event)
Swim: never enough for sure although I just started logging this 3 months ago
Bike: 4,130 miles in '04
.
S: 165,000 yds; B: 2,500 mi. (nearly all Feb-Sept.)
R: 1,300 mi. (pretty consistent throughout the year)
Swim: < 10 hours
Cycling: > 600 hours (80% of which has been since July)
Running: < 40 hours
.
Swim 376579 Yards, about 214 Miles
Bike 3516 Miles
Run 938 Miles
The running will be what I work on this year. 2005 will be my 3rd year and I think I’ll be able to handle more.

Swim-about 20 miles
Bike 8501 miles
Run about 100 miles 26.2 in one event.
One looks a little skewed.
Swim: 213 miles (most ever)
Bike:6400 miles (most ever)
Run:765 miles (down from last couple years due to bike focus + fall knee injury)
Riding is the most fun for me and seems the best way to get fit without injury. Plan for 2005 is to ride 7000, run 1000, swim 200 in prep for IMFL.
Anyone have any thoughts on the best balance among the 3 disciplines assuming equal (in)competence in each?
Swim 5449664 yards/306.4 miles
run 931.8 miles
bike 4678.2 miles
521.8 hours
.
Total: 564 hours
Swim: 283 km ( 177 miles )
Bike: 8838km ( 5.523 miles )
Run: 1668km ( 1042 miles )
.
Swim: 175455 yds
Bike: 3443 miles (doesn’t count trainer over winter)
Run: 973 miles
Nothing to write home about, but most ever for me. Probably less this year since not doing an IM
Swim: 200,350 yds.
Mostly between mid January and the end of May - only a little maintenance the rest of the year. Less than I would like, but didn’t have good pool access this year.
Bike: 4485 miles
Mostly April thru July - usually only 1 weekend ride each week outside that period. Less than I would normally have, as I traded some bike time for more running, since that has become my limiter.
Run: 1390 miles
The most run miles I’ve done in about 15 yrs. (pre-tri). I hope to notch that up again this year. I coach “select” club soccer from mid January thru early May and high school soccer beginning about mid-July thru early November, so it’s tough to get in the weekday rides during those times. I did a better job this year of squeezing in some run time before practices.
Swim: 0
Run: 0
Bike: 10,000 miles
.
Swim: 121575 yards (69 miles) I know…pathetic for someone who did 2 IM’s.
Bike: 7581 miles
Run: 1161 miles - definitely not enough
Swim - big fat 0
Run - 2465
Bike - 3450
.
Swim: 70:45 hrs - 211,350 yds
Bike: 380 hrs - appx. 6500 miles
Run: 166 hrs - appx. 1200 miles
Strength tng: 39 hrs
Total: 655:45 hrs
Come on guys some of these figures Edgar Alan Poe would be proud to have published!
were mostly obsessive compulsive here-right?
swim 910,220 m or yds ~560mi
bike 4960mi and 45hrs spin
run 1276 mi and 18:20 on the elliptical (stress fracture hence the swim)
lift 68:30
~960hrs
what about like francois and bjorn’s mileage and tom d and everybody
.
