2:04:00 marathon with no insoles

Whoops. Nike may need to go back to the drawing board on these prototypes. Didn’t seem to slow him down much, though.

I guess I just don’t see how that can happen. I know it did, but I just don’t
get it.

Maybe insole is not adhered to sole and shoe has too much room in the toe box and in rear heel area, so a forefoot striker at high velocity as foot rolls off ground with each stride pushes it backward?

Looks to me as though we have been doing it all wrong. Perhaps with this new tactic folks may start seeing some 30 minute PRs on their next marathon. Please post how this new tactic helped you achieve your PR

Maybe that’s how Julie millers chip got knocked off all those times! I think we are on to something here;)

I’ve never made the podium with the insoles in. What the hell, I’ll give it try.

I’m pretty sure it’s intentional. Like Southwest Airlines wing tips. Reduces drag.

That’s crazy!

As they say… nothing new on race day… Nike must be excited about the attention.

With the downforce due to the spoilers he could get more grip on the street which gave him the decisive advantage.

He needed the additional heel cushioning to protect his heel from rubbing…

He’s just testing you guys as he heard triathletes will try anything.

Im thinking mayby he promised his sole to the devil last year, and now it was time to pay up …

He’s nailed that color coordinated insole-sock combo though, the true sign of a sartorially discerning runner.

And here I thought the original insoles in my Hokas sliding back almost 1" was bad. He must keep his shoes pretty loose and is slearly a 100% forefoot strike, which would drive the insole backwards every step.

He should be using elastic laces and that won’t happen.

Heck, production-model Hokas do this.

I’ve had that happen a few times, usually because the shoes were a little too big.

Nike made them like that in order to get even more advertising space on their athlete’s shoes.

They do actually improve the efficiency of the aircraft.
