2-position seatpost for cervelo S2

Anyone interested in trading a carbon fixed seatpost for a carbon two position one. Mine is a size medium and is 11.5 in. long. Does anyone else have this bike? What has your experience been when using this bike for triathlon?

Possibly…let me measure mine and I’ll get back to you. I don’t use the 2 position feature on my Soloist anymore…

Turns out my carbon 2-position post is 9.5" in length…but, I DO have an aluminum 2-position post that’s 11.5". The shorter carbon post might work for you if you currently insert the 11.5" post 2" or more past the min insertion mark.

Let me know if you’re interested in either.

I have this bike and both posts, as far as I know you can’t use the AL post in the newer S2 models. I’m sure I could be wrong though.

Not to hijack, but I’m curious if anyone out there has actually gone to the extreme of owning two seat posts and two saddles for their S2. I do use both positions and switching the seat around has become a major pain in the ass.

Back to the OP, yes I’ve used my S2 (and soloist before that) in tris and had no issues. In fact up until a month ago, my PR bike split in an IM was on my Soloist.

I use the same post, just two heads and two saddles. One bolt switch, couldn’t be easier. It’s really a bit easier than having two posts, since with the head you can just leave the saddle attached to the head and swap it that way.

This is with tri setup. I think I’ve got a pretty good tri position on the road bike.

I measured my post and I’m going to need an 11.5" post for sure. Also, I would like to stay with carbon for the post. Thank you for the offer though. Anyone else out there have one?

Is your seatpost carbon or aluminium? Mine’s carbon (2009 S2) and it doesn’t appear to allow the option of pulling off the head. There’s only one bolt and when I undo it the whole assembly (head, seat, etc) comes apart.

My stock one was as you describe. The replacement has an insert for the head. The head was only $20.

Got it. Thanks.

I do exactly this. Two seatposts - fixed seatpost with a SLR saddle for road riding, two-way seatpost in the forward position with an Adamo saddle for the appropriate tris. Works beautifully and I can swap between them instantly, no fiddling. Highly recommend it if you’re going to be doing both road/tris with this bike. For a more optimized tri position I drop the cockpit height a bit, add the clip-ons and I’m good to go.
