2 Ironman races in one season

I did Lake Placid 2 weeks ago and after a good race mentally, but a slow run, I am seriously considering Great Floridian on Oct. 22nd. This question would be pertinent to those doing Kona, too…

In your experience, what is a good strategy? Maintain in my 2 strong sports but add focus to my weak sport (running?)…How many long runs/rides should someone try to accomplish in between these two races?

Just wondering what worked well for those having Done A Double in the past…

Well, it depends on some things–I am doing 3 this year and they are spaced out (IMAZ, IMLP and Kona). I find with 2 weeks active recovery/light training after each event, providing you’re not injured, you can go back to IM training–long stuff. So, unless you are injury prone, or, you couln’t recover from IMLP, I say that you’re fine.
