I joined this forum as a matter of urgency coz I need some insight into bike fit.
I am a 185cm tall chap, and I was wondering If I would fit onto a 50cm Giant Trinity bike.
It will be my first purchase of a TT bike, and there is a second hand bike going for such a good price that I could actually afford it. It will also not sit around forever, so this is a matter of urgency for me.
My normal roadie is a 56 cm frame.
I climbed onto the TT to try and get a feel for it on a windtrainer. I extended the seatpost fully, and I’m a little nervous that I’m not getting a proper extension on my pedalstroke. Of course, the owner of the bike thinks that the fit looks great… why wouldn’t he?
I notice that big Norm Stadler sits on a very small bike, so maybe it is possible.
Is it lunacy to try and fit a person of my size to such a small frame?
since it’s a compact and the 50cm (Medium) frame has an effective tt of 54cm, it may work…assuming your 56cm roadbike is the proper size. The large trinity has a 56.5cm effective tt so that may be just a bit too big for you?? I’d suggest getting another opinion from someone besides the seller though
I’m 196cm tall on a size L Giant TT…while I dwarf the bike and make it look like I’m riding 650 wheels, it fits me like a charm. As a matter of fact, since I ride a slack geometry, I only have an 8cm stem. Giant’s have a strange fit…

Help, please!
Hi,
I have running shoes for sale. They might be 2 or 3 sizes to small for you but they are really cheap.
They come complete with laces and have a nice colour.
Sounds good, doesn’t it?
There’s alot of nay-saying going on here. Look at top tube length only. Does anyone remember abraham olano?..The biggest question is if you can get your saddle to the right height with the proprietary seat post. If that doesn’t work you’re hooped. And you’ll have a proper sized stem!
