12 speed SRAM/Shimano cross compatibility

Having just upgraded my race bike to 12 speed AXS, I now can’t run it on my 11 speed kikR. Other than buying the XDR freehub ($150Aud) and another 12 speed AXS cassette ($250Aud) - does anyone know if there are any issues running a new 12 speed shimano cassette ($180Aud for Ultegra) with the SRAM flat-top chain? There doesn’t look like there is anything special about the teeth on the sram cassette.

The chain roller spacing is different, I suspect it’ll wear your chain and cassette more quickly than you’d like
.

Im also interested in knowing the answer to this. I`m thinking about building a tri bike with a X1 Sram AXS groupset (Sram X1 Crankset, Sram AXS Rear derailuer, Blipbox and clics and blips) but would preffer to use a Shimano 12 speed cassette, so which chain will work? The Sram Flattop or Shimano 12speed? Thanks

Not really sure, I have neither drivetrain. However, as I said before, you’re using a cassette made for one spacing and a crank make for a different spacing. Whichever chain you use won’t mesh perfectly with your drivetrain, meaning both the chain and the cranks/cassette will likely wear prematurely and won’t work as well as they should. If you’re going this route, than just use a SRAM cassette.
