I may just not know where to look? (Clearly a slow learner and still a tad lost in the new forum but a search didn’t seem to show anything form this year).
Is there a 100 runs challenge this year?
Duh…I had a feeling I must not be the only one. NO clue why it did not find this.
Thank you!
So… tried to sign up for the 100/100. Haven’t been able to participate for a couple of years. Seems there are limited number of spaces… is that new?
There is nowhere to sign up for the “official ST 100 runs in 100 days” running challenge. So… Where were you trying to sign up?
There was a link on the “official ST 100 challenge” page a couple of weeks ago that took you to the sign-up site. When I tried to access it; it told me that they were no longer taking any more entries. Didn’t know there was a limit…… whats up with that?
That might’ve been last year’s link - I don’t think the “Official” 2024-25 ST Challenge has been launched yet, nor a start date proposed, even
It started on the 15th
I know mine did, and @devashish_paul and @mistressk started theirs on the 15th, but @E_DUB had promised “something big” which has not yet been revealed
I’m guessing that would be the “Official” ST one?
Either way, there’s no rule that says you can’t start your own whenever you want to, and just track yourself as you see fit
The 100/100 that shall not be named started on the 15th… And I’m signed up and participating in that. But, the 2024-2025 Official ST 100 run in 100 days challenge has not been started… And as RandMart said, an official start date has not been published. No rules have been announced, and neither have any prizes, swag, or winners medals.
In short we remain in a holding pattern… Running in circles.
Oh snap I haven’t been logging stuff since like March so hadn’t realized that other place had started the challenge - in and got placeholder entries for the 3 runs (about to be 4) I’ve done so far
Im not sure it you saw the Strava News… But this isnt helping anything we had coming…
but @E_DUB had promised “something big” which has not yet been revealed
Wait… E_DUB is ChainPin. ChainPin is E_Dub. Finkle is Einhorn. It all makes sense.
I saw a synopsis of Strava’s latest move on DCRAINMAKER’s site. Why do they insist in pissing in their customers Cheerios so much? Every coach and training platform is likely scrambling right now.
Because we keep giving them our money… Maybe it’s time to stop that all together.
I goolged that… It still went right over my head…
I am happy I have never had a paid Strava subscription. It just is not something I want/need. When they do something like this, I am reminded again why i do not want or need it.
Thanks @ryans I’m a free Strava user (= mooch), and a very infrequent one at that, so I didn’t know what @E_DUB was referencing
I know a lot of 100/100 participants liked syncing their Strava’s to whatever app we were using for the Challenge — although, I don’t think it was so much for their benefit, but to “audit” other players results … in other words, to call out “cheaters”
As this is a Challenge, not a Competition, I found that very distasteful. I always entered my results in the Dashboard manually; no one ever bothered me about it. When the Dashboard went away, I didn’t freak out “oh no!!! How can we verify??!!!”
I just did my own thing
So it goes
How can we support your challenge? Happy to write about it. Maybe run some banner ads?
I’m good, thanks
