07 Orca wetsuit sizing...fitting small?

I’m wondering if anyone else has experienced a rather small fit of the 2007 Orca wetsuits relative to their published sizing chart? I just got a 3.8 in size 6 which should work for me (5’8.5, 155-160lbs) but there is now way I’m ever getting completely zipped up. Even after wedging my way into it as best I can zipping it 1/2 way was completely suffocating and my arms/shoulders were already feeling very constricted. I know wetsuits tend to loosen slightly in the water but this wasn’t even close. I’m sending it off for an exchange today but the next size up (7) is supposed to be for 165-180lbs and I don’t even crack into that range soaking wet with boots on. Still, based on my experience with the size 6 I’m willing to give it a shot. Anyone else have any sizing experiences with the new Orcas?

I don’t have any experience with the new Orcas, but historically they have run small. When I bought mine, I was instructed to go AT LEAST one size bigger than the chart.

I just received my 3.8 in women’s sizing, which I was scared of!! I am 5’9 and 124 lbs. I ended up getting the Small and it fits SOOOOO perfectly, better than my PFlex 5, ever fit. I was told in the shop that they are sizing men up one size.
Good Luck.

Maybe they should revisit their sizing chart for men at least. It seems silly to give specific height/weight specs for each size and then have to “size up” for a proper fit. Sounds like the 7 might work for me so I’ll keep my fingers crossed.

“When I bought mine, I was instructed to go AT LEAST one size bigger than the chart.”

It’s very challening for everyone with a product that is very size and fit dependant when there are inconsistancies from what the size charts say and how it fits on the body. It’s hard for both retailers (for buying) and consumers (for shopping) when these differences crop up and the size chart does not match up with the real world.
