I wonder if it’s to get over all the shit they were eating when they offered “sincere condolences” to OJ’s friends, family and fans.

Everyone watched them play, everyone knows who the fab five is. I don't think it matters if the NCAA recognizes it or not. Lots of people that were not around during that time knows who the fab five is, most of them do not know those appearances and wins "didn't happen".

I've always found that the sanctions where they take away past wins from teams or awards from players to be incredibly stupid

Glad Reggie officially got his back. He was such a fun player to watch at USC. I thought for sure he'd be a perinial app-pro with multiple 1000/1000 seasons. Maybe now they can have some fun with him in those Heisman house commercials next season

The OSU Tattoo Five and Jim Tressel want a word with the NCAA after being hammered for selling their own stuff.

I'm beginning to think that we are much more fucked than I thought.

Without using the google... can you name the fab five?

I'll gift you two:

Chris Webber
Jalen Rose

I can think of 4 of them.

How does Danny Hart sit down with balls that big?

I know all five:
Juwan Howard, Jimmy King, and Ray Jackson are the others. Howard arguably had as good of, if not a better, NBA career than Rose. Also the only member of the Fab Five with a NBA Championship ring (2x).

I was sure I would know them, then could not come up with Ray Jackson

I only remembered Jimmy King because the Raptors drafted him. He was very meh as an NBA player.

Did not remember Jackson.

Having grown up in Michigan, the Fab Five are easy to name.

How about the starting five for the 1989-90 National Champions, UNLV?

I had four of them before looking.

And who gave UNLV the closest game in their run to the title?

Can we call a timeout on references to the Fap 5, and instead keep this thread about a Trojan?

Easy.

Ray Jackson
Jimmy King
Juwan Howard

Saw them play twice in Madison when I was a kid against my Badgers, Wisconsin upset them in 92. I loved the black socks, baggy shorts, and their swagger. I was too young in 1992 to stay up for the championship game against Duke. Was allowed to stay up the next year to watch the time out call.

The ESPN 30 for 30 was pretty good.

FWIW I can't name one player from the current UCONN roster and I watched a fair bit of the tournament this year.

Completely agree that it's stupid to take away past accomplishments and I'm glad they gave it back. It's not like his play on the field had anything to do with his violations that cost him the Heisman. He earned it.

I love your idea about the Heisman house commercials and having some fun with it.

UCSB! Go Gauchos!

Ball State

UNLV only beat Ball State by two.

But to stay on topic; I don’t get it. Bush cheated and got caught. The changes to the rules today don’t make that any less true. At the same time, I don’t find myself caring either way, really.

Ahh, you are just referring to the tournament. I was talking about the entire season.

UCSB played UNLV twice that year. They lost to them by 2 points in the first game and beat them in the 2nd game. It was UNLV's last loss before the made their run to the title.

Time out for a second. You think everyone knows who the fab five was? oh shoot never mind I don’t have a time out.
