Not generally. But, specifically, there are people who've been sentenced to death who are/were almost certainly innocent. Often with degrees of prosecutorial misconduct. E.g. Anthony Ray Hinton. And more commonly than I'm comfortable with.

The finality of death prevents correcting mistakes. E.g. using new techniques like DNA analysis.

That's the main reason I'm anti death penalty.

Right, but l am not trying to depose you.

The issue l am asking about is whether you vote for folks who are opposed to your lefty social positions.
