Zoot transition bag

I wish that others would post excessive pictures on ST in their reviews of items. Here is my attempt to promote this practice. I use tinypic.com to host.

I am really impressed with the Zoot Transition bag. It’s big, but not too big. It has a TON of pockets. It can fit my aero helmet. It looks cool. I can’t imagine what it might be missing outside of maybe a waterproof shell on the exterior. I highly recommend this bag because it is very sturdy construction, nice colors, comfortable to transport everything in. It’s everything one would want in a tri bag. Before buying this one I had heard others talk about it with excitement and I thought they were weird. This thing doesn’t look that good on a website, at least it didn’t to me. In person it is phenomenal! The space, the organization, the quality–everything has been accounted for.

The bag is about 2 feet tall (I’m sure there is an exact measurement by the company on their website, but this thing takes up two feet of vertical space.) It’s about 14 inches wide. It’s fairly thick as well: about a foot thick at the bottom. It can accomodate all of your gear in an organized fashion due to the high number of pockets.

Here are some pictures:

Top view: there is velvet-lined pocket in the top part that pulls over.

Side view: this side opens up. The lumbar pad on this side has a clear pocket integrated (see pictures below). The other side acts as a hinge. The other side also has another mesh pocket in the lumbar strap.

Bottom: there is an easy grab strap on the bottom so that you can grab the bag from just about any angle.

Side view: This is the hinge side view. I tried to measure it for you. As you can see, there are three superficial pockets that can be accessed without opening up the bag. The top pocket (black) can fit an aero helmet (see pictures below). The next pocket has a square velvet-lined pocket inside of it–this little pocket is held closed by a velcro holder (see pictures inside this pocket below.) The next pocket has 4 zippered mesh compartments, a velvet lined sunglasses holder that is held closed by a velcro tab, and two velvet lined pockets that are behind the zippered mesh pockets.

3rd front pocket: the sunglasses holder is barely visible at the top. The other pockets are self-explanatory. I have a zip towel in one of them.

These lights come with the bag. There is another plastic clip (very durable) on the shoulder strap to hold one of these lights.

Interior 1: If you zip open the first interior compartment (of 2 interior compartments), this is what you get. On the left are two large mesh pockets. Behind these mesh pockets are two more pockets (same size as the mesh pocket in front of them. I am able to fit my shoes in a single behind pocket. You can see my transition mat in one of the mesh compartments. On the right is a mesh pocket at the top that is holding my race number holder and favorite timing chip band. The orange square is a packing checklist that is kind of handy I guess. This entire panel can zip off to allow access to the wetsuit storage area.

I hope this pictoral review is helpful. I wanted to be able to bike into the race without needing help from anyone. I have a Timbuk2 messenger that I was using for this but I am now in love with my Zoot!
