Zoot Compressrx Issue...anyone else had this?

Hey All,

I was super pumped to get my zoot compressrx tights…unfortunately after like 5 runs there’s a huge arse hole in the…well…arse. I’m just bummed because i usually love zoot stuff and feel it usually holds up. I’ve taken care of the tights as instructed but for whatever reason (and no one better say a fat a$$) there’s a huge hole where the seam j ust unraveled.

If anyone else has had this issue please let me know because I’d like to find a pair of compression tights that are durable enough to handle more than FIVE runs (=

Anyways, reply to this post if you’ve had success w/ another brand or if your zoots have done this too.

safe training!

This happened in the “active” tights and NOT the “recovery” tights, yes? I have a pair of the “recovery,” and I wouldn’t think of running in them.

Yes this happend in the active tight not the recovery tight.

My zoot recovery tights look like they have been through a shredder. The waist band is completely unraveled. I wonder if I should have a larger size. I got the tights right before Kona and in the couple months after Kona gained 15 lbs. they still work just fine and I don’t wear them outside my house so I’m not too concerned about it.

There really is only one explaination…It’s gotta be the tights…Doesn’t it???

FWIW the Skins compression garments are under warranty for one year…
A great, superior product IMO.

call zoot, those guys are super excited about their compression line and i’d doubt that they’d hesitate to make it right. Obviously this is assuming that you didn’t a)sit on something sharp, b) are wearing something like a small with a 38" waist, or c)have killer gas!

Ha, anyways, I’ve heard of nothing like this and zoot’s compression stuff is pretty top notch. I work for Sugoi btw so I shouldn’t really be saying this=)

either contact zoot or the retailer where you made your purchase. the product will be swapped out, this unfortunate problem is under warranty.

much like a wetsuit, the ‘yank it up’ technique of putting on doesn’t fair well on some of the seams.

during the ‘test’ launch of the product (09/08-12/08), zoot made some small running changes to the product line based on consumer feedback, size sell through, and the few warranty returns, so by the 03/09 worldwide launch, the product on the shelf will be totally dialed in.

I got an email from zoot today referring to my comments in this thread. They admitted to having problems in early production, they are sending me a new pair of the latest tights. it took a little work for the guy to find my email, since it’s not in my profile, but is available from my blog.

I’ve also have had an issue with the seams opening up on my Zoot Compress RX tights in a few places, however I’ve effected repairs myself on these seams as I am satisfied with the compression qualities of these tights. They have made quite a difference as far as how my legs feel after a workout, legs no longer suffer from that heavy feeling afterward.
I’ve also taken to wearing them during work as I have to spend a fair amount of time standing at a machine some days which would normally cause slight swelling at the ankles by the end of the day and heaviness in the legs. Since using my Compress RX tights for this purpose I’ve experienced none of these issues as before their use, so I am convinced that the products performance in this regard is as represented by Zoot. Most amazing of all is that small spider viens that were always present around my ankles after a day of being on my feet at work all day are for the most part not visible at the end of the day, which to me, proves that the compressive qualities of these tights are indeed functional. In regard to the earlier posts regarding these tights, it was mentioned that the earlier batches of 2008 product saw improvements made to newer(2009) product. I am of the opinion that my tights were of the earlier 2008 batch. Hopefully Zoot has the seam issue resolved or improved as that is the only thing that concerns me at this point about this product. The sizing chart in relation to the product fit is accurate and was a concern but upon recieving my tights and trying them on I was extremely happy with the fit.

They will gladly fix the issue. I have used the socks, active and recovery tights as well as the top. My first active knickers ripped a little at a seam. They sent me a new pair and I had the old pair fixed and they work fine. The gear is superior to any other compression product and I feel more durable than Skins.

Any experiences with the new tights and durability? I’m researching brands.

I’ve to the Zoot Recovery tights and like them…I had a little seam ripage from getting them on the first time, but am very satisfied with them…I put them on after a hard workout in the evenings and wear them until bed and if it is a particularly tough workout, try to sleep in them.

Have the active socks to and wore them on the plane recently and have liked them.

Wish I could afford all things Zoot b/c they fit me perfectly and I just love their stuff! Just got a pair of Zoot Ultras and like those a lot too!!!

I got the recovery compress rx - the original ones, and the started to get holes on the calf on the seam line - turns out there was a problem with them - zoot was great, I got an RMA number, sent them back and got my new ones that have VERY different stitching! Though they do feel bigger to me - either that or I have lost more weight than I thought!

Their customer service was VERY responsive

JenHS, in regard to your reply, I’ve not purchased a new set of Compression Rx tights yet, but I can tell you this the pair I have are being used daily, wash and wear, just to see how they will stand up. The repairs I did are withstanding the daily rigors of use and washings and when I do order my new ones I will order directly from Zoot to ensure that I get the latest version of the Compression Rx tights.
I can’t say enough about this product as I am totally satisfied with the performance of these tights in regard to my physical wellbeing while using them and the quality of the fabric and its durability (other than the seam issue I experienced). As pointed out in one of the other posts ,Zoot has supposedly taken care of the seam issue and if that is truly the case then you can be 100% confident in the product ,in my opinion.

I tried on a bunch of different brands of compression tights and socks - Zoot, 2XU, and Skins. I ended up going with the Zoot recovery tights and compression socks - they felt the best to me. I haven’t yet worn the socks, but the tights have been great. I put them on after a tough race or workout and sometimes sleep in them - similar to KT-tri. The tights are probably a size or two too small, but I haven’t had any durability issues after wearing them about 5-6 times.

I ordered the recovery tights last night thru Team Estrogen. Hopefully if there are any problems the exchange won’t be a hassle. I have a long run on Saturday so I had them overnighted

I’ll let ya’ll know how it goes with the tights.

FYI - we are working on a seamless compression garment - so there won`t be any seams coming off or anything else…
