Zipps Tubs -- EASY to mount! [without glue]

I am stretching out my tires before gluing them up onto Zipps. They slipped on way more easily than I expected. No fight at all. I’m worried that even glue isn’t going to hold them on! Man, I’m nervous about rolling a tire…

This may help.

When you turn, you will be leaning into the turn, because of this, the tire will be pushed onto the rim more than it will be pushed to the side. So there’s probably less lateral force than you think.

you’ll have to worry more about centering the tubs on the zipps more than rolling a tire off the rim.

don’t worry about it, just ride it. if it happens…it happens…but i’d be surprised if it did.

My Zipp and tufo tires go on pretty darn easy. I have no problems, actually, when mounting an unstretched tire. Center it…blow it up…ride it like you stole it!!

BTW…to test your glue job…wait 24 hours…deflate…see how easy or hard it is to attempt to push the tire off the rim with your thumbs. It shouldn’t push right off.

Use the Vittoria Mastik One glue. 3 layers on the rim and one on the tire. If you glue them correctly they just won’t roll off period. Hell you almost have to cut them off.
