Zipp's New Product Announcement

In today’s Zipp Podcast, at the end of it, they mentioned that the next podcast will be a new product introduction. Does anyone know what this new product will be?

Added: Scroll to page 2 to see the new product. (edited June 13)

Dimpled carbon valve extenders. H2ofun is selling his carboat in order to raise the funds for some.

They will dimple their dimples.

Does anyone know what this new product will be?
Non-dimpled wheels. They’ll explain that these new cutting edge rims are actually faster than the dimpled versions. The nay-sayers will say they look surprisingly like rims from a few years ago, but don’t believe them. They’ll smooth rims will be new…and fast. Smooth rims will be the next revolution in race wheels, and they’ll market the crap out of them.

a dimpled rear mounted hydration system with dimpled bottles and a new dimpled bento box with optional dimpled gu packs!

Dimpled tubulars
.

dimpled butts…oopps…already invented by the TnT peeps!

One thing you can say about Zipp is that they know how to market themselves. The 404 has had 4 iterations in the last 7 years, the 808 has had 2 in the last 4 years. They are not afraid to talk about their product or how they are trying to improve. That is something the HED could take a lesson from. How many iterations of the HED 3 has there been since it came out? It would be nice if HED would talk about their products and what makes it so special and how they are trying to improve them. After all, these are two American companies who have done well.

From the Triathlete magazine article, they did mentioned a new disc and maybe something deeper than a 808, but who knows.

Dimpled tubulars

They already have those… not that they’re available right now:

Who knows, I might have some barely used zipp wheels for sale.

Dave

After all the commotion I would have thought that you’d want to be buried with those things…

You do not know me very well then. I love to try new stuff out, then sell and buy other stuff to try out.
So, if Zipp comes out with “better” wheels, my wife is going to kill me. :o(

Dave

And a LOT cheaper too.

Dave

She’s going to be really pissed if they come out with a super new tubular glue that renders clinchers obsolete as race wheels overnite…

I have a hard time believing I would ever get tubulars, but I have learned to never say never.

Dave

I thought I was an “insider” with them and I have no freakin’ idea…

My guess (and this is an completely uneducated, shot in the dark guess) is a new frameset… dimpled fo course.

She’s going to be really pissed if they come out with a super new tubular glue that renders clinchers obsolete as race wheels overnite…

Stop it, stop it…no really, STOP IT! You’re killin’ me here …

We have some of the Zipp tubular tires in our store. Part of our pre-season order that took a really long time to come in. We were told that there was some problem with the Vittoria factory in Thailand which caused the short supply and delay in delivery.

I’m going to guess a basebar…It’s the one thing they are missing in their handlebar lineup.
