Zipps/Brake Pads/Rain

I was wondering about using zipps in the rain. I am using my 404’s for Lake Placid and seeing that it pretty much rains there every year I figure this year will be no different. Anyway are there problems with braking with zipps in the rain and/also also if you brake when going on the longer downhill sections. Do regular break pads work better or going for the zipp brake pads?

Cork won’t work for crap. This being said, I believe that Zipp’s pads would probably be best as Zipp tested these for optimal use. I don’t think they just stuck their name on a brake pad for the heck of it. Go with the Zipps.

Let me add that their braking surface is so much better these days as opposed to the abraded glass surface that they first used. Those were **SCARY **in the rain.

I believe mine are 2001 404’s…so they might have the older breaking surface…if so should I just plan on using my regular wheels? Or will the zipp pads hopefully work ok.
