Received 3 zipp tubular tires yesterday. 2 of them have nice shiny aluminum valve extenders the 3rd has brass and seems a couple of millimeters shorter…
I’d expect 3 tires ordered at the same time to be duplicate in appearance and quality. It’s a little thing but seems to be pissing me off.

Just got mine yesterday. Same issue. 1 has the brass valve body and the other is shiny aluminum. No rhyme or reason to it, but at least you don’t see the valve body anyway once they are mounted up.
I’ll mention that the one with the brass, doesn’t hold air for very long compared to the nice valves… I’m talking 40# pressure loss in two hours… It’s deffective in my book.
Sounds like you need some teflon tape! Pull the core and put some teflon tape around the threads. Should solve your problem.

My bad… Loose valve… tightend it and seems to be holding air as expected.
