Zipp disc

I’m looking at a few used ZIPP Disc wheels.

Does anyone know if there are any major changes that have been made between the 2001, 2003, and 2004 versions of the ZIPP Disc?

Thanks

2003/2004 have the ABLC dimples and are about $400 more than the 2001 model retailed for

Mainly I bought it to shed some weight off my bike and for the hub

I have used Corima, HED and Renn discs, the Zipp is much nicer than the others in my opinion. The Renn however was a great wheel and the best value.

What does “allowing you to ride 2-3 minutes faster per hour” mean? Is that some sort of time warp thing?

I can ride 2-3 miles further per hour, or take 2-3 minutes off my 40k time, or ride 2-3 miles/hour faster for a one hour duration, but I don’t think I could ride 2-3 minutes faster per hour.

Gary,

Do you know how much difference in weight there is between the '01 and '04 models. IS there a significant difference in the hub as well?

Thanks for the insight!

right, meaning 2-3 minutes off of a 60 minute 40k TT (so say sub 58 with Rotors) or Tri split … adjust as necessary for Ironman distance

SRM = no I use Rotors

Powertap = nope, I use the Zipp

Ergomo = again, Rotors

so …

Polar = “Awaiting Mike’s review”. :slight_smile:

Likely will go with Polar later this year and use Wattage readout for TT pacing, instead of HR.

I believe that they all list at 950g for 700c
