Does anyone have an email address for Zipp? I am trying to contact them from Australia but only seem to have phone numbers…
Unfortunately I have a warranty claim… for a present purchased for Christmas 2009. Yep, I suspect I am out of warranty by a number of days depending on when Santa purchased it!!! And unfortunately Santa doesn’t keep receipts… grrrrr

Ultra… Not looking to have an argument with you. I thought I had a fairly specific subject title and then post. You obviously mis-read it or are too caught up in Christmas to understand what I was looking for but chose to answer - a couple of times.
Or if you want to make it more clear… you just go right ahead.
Edit: Got tangled up in trying to “not” have an argument.

why not contact Echelon Sports in Brisbane, they are the Australain distributor and I have always found them helpful. Just google them.
I purchased through USA so didn’t want to bother Echelon with a claim where they haven’t got any revenue out of it. I appreciate that freight costs, etc for warranty claims are the other side to buying bike stuff online from Overseas.
Made contact and wheels are in motion (so to speak!!)
Interested to hear if anyone has seen this before?
It is directly opposite the valve so suspect it was where the original weld was done. The wheel has not been crashed and I am guessing was caused by a pothole or similiar. No idea really as I didn’t notice it until a spoke broke today, but the crack appears in a photo a month or two ago. Yes, I am not that observant…
This is not an attempt by me to get more action or attention from Zipp. They have been great so far. If you plan on using this thread as an opportunity to attack Zipp please do not. I have a number of their wheels and are very happy with them, bar this hiccup.
I’ve had to return a few sets of Zipps/Srams, in different countries. If you call them, and then email them a picture, they’ll ask you to take the wheel and your proof of purchase to a local bike shop retailing Zipps, or mail it directly to the distibutor in the country you are training in. I call their HQ in speedway IN, to start the process. The last ZIPP cracked in half at the valve stem, right in the middle of the “Handmade in Speedway Indiana” badging. The other Zipp wheelsets broke spokes or nipples, and all were replaced, no questions asked. You just have to pay shipping. Their international number is: +1-317-481-1120. one of their support emails is sramusa@sram.com Their sram/zipp support people check it daily. Nate Newton is great to deal with.
That looks very straight for damage. You’re right, I’d guess its at the weld. lots of aluminum rims aren’t welded just pinned, and have a noticeable ridge. If thats the only issue and it isn’t getting worse, you might want to fill the gap with epoxy and sand it down to make it smooth.
When you ride it do you feel any issues with braking?
