Looking into a front Zipp, and correct me if I’m wrong, but only the rear is dependent on shimano or campy based on the free hub body correct? The front should work with either? I have a seller telling me the front he has is for shimano only?

You, sir, are correct. Your seller, is an IDDDDDIOT! I would be suspect of him. But a front wheel is a front wheel, whether you ride Shimano, Campy, SRAM, Sachs, Samson, Mektronic, or any other component groups I can think of.
ya that’s what I figured, just wanted to make sure there wasn’t some secret I wasn’t aware of. 
I’d actually be concerned about buying from someone that thick/clueless…
Many people with really nice goods and no product knowledge did not acquire said goods legally, i.e. your new good deal is someone else’s theft loss.
