I just got a set of tub. 404’s. I have heard differing opinions on wether or not I will need special brake pads, (like the Zipps)? Or can I use my stock brake pads? ( Cervelo P2K). Thanks for the help.
they’ll eat your stock pads alive… get the zipps or koolstop blacks. koolstop makes both the zipps and the black versions. blacks are half the price of zipps and work okay. after trying the more expensive zipps yesterday I think they stop a whole lot better than the blacks, makes me feel better about buying them as I only bought them because my lbs was out of koolstop black and the zipps were pretty expensive

A follow-up is , will I need to switch out brake pads every time I switch between my race and training wheels, or will the Zipps or Kool stops work for both?
