Zipp 999s - just got'em - couple of Qs

Group,

I just picked up my 999s last night. Beautiful wheels!

In looking them over rather quickly I had a couple of questions. The front wheel has what looks to be a carbon dust cap over the hub. It really doesn’t fit very flush - is that the way it is supposed to be? There is also a sticker on the hub inside where the spokes are (make sense?) - should that be peeled off? It is a bit fuzzy looking.

The 999 sticker kind of folds over the valve hole and not stuck on real flat or flush - doesn’t look like it would help aerodynamics.

The shop mounted the tires…do any other accessories come with these wheels? At the price I thought there would be a crack pipe, etc. Also, my last Zipp purchase (many moons ago) it came with a little grease gun, value hole covers, etc. Do I need to grease these wheels at all or do any other sort on maintenance?

Thanks,

hopefully you are using 21 or 22mm tires

there is a little pack of plastic wheel hole covers and a ‘crack pipe’ that comes with the 999’s

After much turmoil, I decided to go with my old trusted Conti Comp 22s. They are mounted well and look great!

Thanks for your insight!
