Zipp 808 -- Hard to pump up?

I bought some new wheels, Zipp 808 Clincher, and they are my first really deep wheels. They are exceptionally hard to pump up, is this normal? I’m sure they are, but don’t want to risk having installed them wrong and blowing out the sidewall.

It has nothing to do with the wheels, it is most likely the valves are not fully opened. I would remove the tires & tubes, remove the valve extenders and check the valves, before reinstalling everything. Sometimes the process of screwing the valve extenders on can wind the needle valve in and stop it from fully opening.

Grazie mille. I will try that.

If you are using a valve extender, Teflon tape is a must,
