I imagine you’re only trying to help a buddy out by posting this on someone else’s classified ad, but that is really bad form. And if you don’t know this seller, you really have no place inferring that this seller may not be as stand up as your guy. If you want to help your buddy out, do it in their thread, not someone elses.
while i might kind of agree, i might also state the the forums are for hte benefit of everyone. and if another good set of wheels is available for a similar price, then it benefits the readers to post those as well…maybe not a benefit to the original poster, but this isnt a commercial site anyway

You’ve blogged with the guy? I think you’re misrepresenting your connection with the other seller. You list him as director of finance for westwood velo, the club for which you serve as director. C’mon. My point is, the readers of the forum can check each individual listing at their leisure, and if they want to make an informed decision, they will. Thus far, the classifieds on this site have not suffered from item sniping as happens on other forums. I’m not going to tell you not to support your guy. Just do it in his thread.
first, i appreciate the post. secondly , while i really have no interest in furthering this dialogue since its getting us now hwere, i’ll write itoff as ‘you have your thoughts on the matter, i have mine’. a guy posts something about ABC on any thread anywhere, as long as its relevant to that particular product, and its not a threa the guy possesses or owns,i think anyone has a right to post something related as well. someone offering 808s for sale where someone says I’ll buy them, email me., suggests to me they are probably sold, so then posting for readers another set of wheels i know of, same set, of same high quality, i think is a benefit tot hose who might have read this thread or subscribed to it.
as far as knowing alex, of course. i post that in my very post that he and i are both members of westwood velo. but i dont live with the guy… i probably converse more with him on blogs, on our website, these forums, our forums, than anywhere else. heck, wheni do ride with the guy, i probably dont say 5 words to him other than “F, that hill hurt, huh?”
so we’ll leave it that. hopefully BOTH sets of 808s are for sale. i appreciate your position on the wheels. didnt mean to hijack or disturb the interest in the original set. and lets end it. this dialogue is definately not helping his cause.
