In mounting the speedplay zero cleats to the Shimano TR02 or Shimano R215 doe you folks use any of the included shims?? The installation instructions are not too clear…and it seems like they may not need the shims, but not quite sure??

I have this setup and I dont use shims. My buddy uses the shims in one shoe b/c he has one leg slightly longer than the other. I dont know what size shoe you wear, but the Shimanos in the larger sizes dont work well with Speedplays. The Shimano’s have a wider toebox than most shoes and this hampers the way the shoe unclips when the rider twist his/her foot inward. Basically the toe of the shoe will hit the inside of the crank before the shoe unclips. I’m not sure at what size shoe this becomes an issue, but I wear a size nine and its fine. But, my LBS had to call Shimano to make sure. They are great shoes and a great peddle though. Good luck.
