Need some mechanical help.
Bought a 2008 Cannodale Slice a few weeks back, custom build (from a slowtwitcher) with Zero Gravity Brakes.
I am having issues with the rear brake staying centered and it’s rubbing the wheel.
Due to the design of the Slice frame I cannot access the bolt to center the rear brake properly and I can’t find much information anywhere on there things.
I am thinking of replacing with Ultegra brake set because I don’t want to keep dealing with rear brake issues.
Anyone have experience with these zero g? Suggestions?
Thanks
Bill

You can access the bolt – you just need to take the caliper off via the mounting bracket (the little button hex head screw that’s just above the caliper bolt). You can make a sharpie mark before removing the bracket to where you want the caliper lined up, then take off the caliper+bracket, tighten the caliper bolt making sure the marks are aligned, and then reinstall the bracket on the frame.
Axe them I had nuttin but probs with mine too.
What issues were you having?
I have done everything you mentioned.
The caliper is centered but when I reattach the cable it is only pulling the right arm, the left moves but its minimal. It could be something with the brake lever.
Its all jacked up right now.
The main reason I bought the slice was for simplicity. Prior bike was a Fuji D6 which was a nightmare
Definitely sounds like a caliper issue. If you remove the wheel and brake cable and actuate the right-side caliper arm by hand, does the left arm move?
Oh I removed it…several times!
Yes, If I have the caliper off it seems fine and it seems fine when I have it mounted. But when I attach the cable it throws it out of center and the left arm pushes against the rim (or very close) and will not accuate. The right does accuate but is far from the rim. I’m thinking its a cable issue of some sort
Becoming uncentered all the time. They were also sticking after braking and not openin full after and then rubbing. I kept them very clean too.
Single pivot brakes in general depend on cable housing length. If its either too short or too long, the housing will push the caliper off center.
Yes! This is EXACTLY what mine is doing!
This ^!
I had a pair of Zero Gravities several years ago. They were perfect on my Look. Wouldn’t stay centered on my Storck. Gave them to a friend.
If you ditch 'em, get the TriRigs. Not the best stopping power, but a nice aero touch.
Instead of giving them to a friend, a slowtwitcher may buy them, hint hint.
Like someone said , ditch them and get tririgs. You won’t be dissapointed.

On my Slice I run a TriRig Omega up front and a regular ol’ dual-pivot (SRAM Apex) out back where I assume the aero is far less important.
