Zero Gravity Brakes (1)

Wow, 180 grams for their top of the line but for $375 I wonder if they are worth it? They also have a 215 gram version for $265, still pricey. Especailly when I can find some nice black Shimano 105 brakes for $40.

So, are they worth the $$$?

I have a set of 0GTi, they are light and they work fine. Other than that, nothing special.

yes, they are.

All judgements of value are subjective so you really need to answer for yourself. They work fine, though not as well as Shimano, Mavic, or Campy top end models. If you are obsessed with weight they are probably worth it (mine are more like 167g with Corima pads). Even so I may sell mine since I keep thinking I need to get some AX lightness carbon brakes. I just need to convince myself that they are worth it, or that there is nothing better to do with the money.

I have a set of the new Zeros. All I can say is this; if you appreciate CNC’d, tricked-out, quality light bike parts you’ll fall in love with them. Not only are they super-light, but they can be toed-in at the pad bolt. That means you can say goodbye to that high-pitched brake squeeling. If you’re building a climbing bike, these brakes should be part of that bike. All Ti hardware. But, yes, they are pricey. And yes, you only live once. Weigh it out for yourself. Bottom line, quality costs money.

Mine are better then yours!!!

They look cooler!!

I’ll take a pic this evening. I mounted the front last night. Just one little problem, I now have to find pads that fit! Shimano cartridge sets won’t work since the brake caliper arm is too close to the fork. I have to find a shorter barke cartridge and pad.

Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah…

My Zeros are LIGHTER than your MRCs, turkey! Perhaps the Campy cartridge will fit?

Take good care of my folks. They’re on the way to your B&B now.

Connie will do a fine job inviting them in…I’m going for a bike ride! : )

I’m at work. You bum!
