YouTube influencer, future champ, delusional, disrespectful, what is it?

Ya, I think even Lionel Sanders has come to the conclusion that he needs to focus more on just putting together his best possible race and the results are what they are. There are a very small number of people who can realistically say they are racing for the win from the beginning. And while I’m sure Rudy von Berg wants to win, he also knows he’s not in that drivers seat. He just needs to put his best race together and if things unfold a certain way he might beat some or get lucky and all of the five guys who are up front racing for the win.

That’s not a compelling story I guess and it doesn’t get people talking about you though?

Time to upgrade your computrainer  ERG on any modern smart trainer would give you the load that you program at whatever cadence you want. It is great to practice long climbs for those of us that live in flat/rolling areas.

Back to topic, he just released a race day video, seems as if he had an overall bad day despite a decent (ish) bike split:

Yeah, Ari is pretty full on.

lol someone picked it up.

Comple loss of reality. Shocking tbh. Gives tips over tips as he didn’t have any improvements despite training as a pro for years now. But he says he leaves that video here for when he’s World Champion for everyone to see how it started :person_shrugging: Watch out Hayden, Kristian and Casper. He’s coming for you! Half of their VO2Max but still.. WORLD CHAMPION!

Really can’t fathom why you watch if it baits you so badly…

Guilty pleasure. Sometimes you gotta elevate your blood pressure outside of training as well

The whole “Influencer” sphere is all about perception.Like so many others they leverage some cool challenge they are doing to attract Sub’s and in many cases clients.

It is pretty obvious that here we have a guy who knows full well he isn’t going to win Kona but talks the talk to the multitude of clueless people out there who don’t know better.

You can see the same schtick repeated over and over by influencers who do the “Im training for Ironman from nothing” followed immediately by the next random challenge. The average punters has no idea how average these people are in reality but they market themselves as high achievers doing amazing things by “ pushing their bodies beyond the limits” .

It is a con wrapped up in YouTube entertainment and millions of people fall for this stuff every day. Colin Chartier is the worst,or best depending on your view, that I have seen in recent months.

I prefer Matti’s videos to Lionel’s. Not sure who is more delusional or flippant.

Oh man, he is so full of :poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop::poop:

Find emotional balance and you’re elite, riiiight

Now I fully believe, without significant doubt, that his whole story of how he didn’t start doping until November 2022 is BS. I wasn’t sure but now I just know.

Blasphemy!!

Ugh, Collin is really bad yeah. At this point gotta give it to Matti, he’d never cheat I think and that’s a hell of a good quality

at the same time he is one of the most honest doper ever. no bs just accepted the ban.
anyway, I certainly do not click on influencer videos so what is he saying ?

Exactly, I admire his honesty. Unlike every other borito eating, shaker drinking, boyfriend kissing lying pos

Colin seems to be a little bit different because after he took his suspension he seemed in no way as though he was going to be coming back into the sport and seems to be a bit of an individual. So he is not going to maintain the oh my burrito was spiked.

There must be a lot that he is not saying publicly and that’s probably quite a bit of bitterness for him to deal with. He gave himself a shot to win the big races doing what needed to be done.

Take another analogy - there are going to be lots of people who are very successful in professional businesses - think private equity finance tech etc - who will basically lie cheat and steal to get to the top and have a huge number of red flags from a bullying perspective. Only the people who are in the industry and who have worked with them before will know. Perhaps it’s some kind of equivalent to doping in sport. These people however get away with it ( in business) even though people who know them know they are complete fuck wits with no principles

Maybe I have had too much decaf coffee and it has totally wrecked my brain but I find the speculation into the psychology of someone lik Colin to be very interesting. He is obviously completely way out there in Gaga land at times but there are diamonds in the poop too

Since Eric Lagerstrom isn’t posting on TTL YT right now Mitch is currently king of content. Rough season for Daniel, but life doesn’t look so bad.

It is Triathletes like Daniel and Megan who really keep me interested in following the sport. They are so much more relateable for me and allow us to “seemingly” get to know them as people as well as athletes. The kind of Tri-Geeks I’d love to hang out with.

Hell,I wish EPO Colin had the presence of mind to document his 5 month ride through parts of the Americas after he was banned. Now that would have been cool and “Redemption Story” book would have been a no-brainer.

If Colin changed his name to Edward Peter Oscar, I’d be EPO Chartier’s biggest fan!
