Your Top 3 Tri-Related Resolutions

Only a week away from N. Year’s but thought I’d get the wheel rolling early. What are your top 3??? I’ll go 1st:

Don’t fool yourself in the pool thinking that technique trumps toughness, go hard!Less social riding/training, more time on CompuTrainer. It’s OK to puke or DNF, don’t be afraid to blow up. At this point in your tri-life, it ain’t about finishing.

  1. Increase quality of swim/bike/run workouts
  2. Find a coach to help with number 1
  3. Go sub 12 in Louisville
  1. Get running healthy again
  2. Last year in the 40-44 AG, snag an AG podium slot for every race (did it in 2014)
  3. Get my son interested in running again, or at least up early enough to ride with me when I run.
  1. SWIM at least 5x/week, EVERY WEEK
  2. Then, SWIM some more
  3. And then make sure I SWIM really hard - so hard I actually feel like puking

Did I mention this is a SWIM focus year?

Merry Xmas & Happy New Year to all!

N. Year?
Is new year too difficult to type?

  1. Sub 12:00 at Challenge AC & IM Lousiville
  2. Sub 4:00 at Bayshore Marathon (Traverse City, MI on Memorial Day weekend)
  3. “Make” baby # 3 - This is not really tri-related, but I guarantee it will effect my IM training
    .
  1. Less mindless running, more focused training.
  2. A lot more cycling.
  1. Run 6x / week until CdA
  2. Break 10 hours at CdA
  3. Train smart and know when to back off intensity to not get inured

1 Eat
2 Drink
3 Be Merry

ps In between I will train a little. There are no pros in my AG.

Really just one. Come back to running in 2015 from the meniscus tear surgery I am having next week. Scared to death.

Stay healthy, stay healthy, stay healthy.

.

  1. Top 10 AG world sprint Chicago
  2. Actually finish Muskoka 70.3 this year ((sub 5hr(or at least ride further than 3km before crashing out)).
  3. Get stronger as a runner and not fade away with a couple KM’s left
  1. Sleep
  2. Nutrition
  3. Mobility

1 - Don’t swim
2 - Bike a little
3 - Run a lot

Very doable since I won’t be racing multisport in 2015
.

Other than staying healthy?

Swim a lot
work my way up to running a lot
be more focused on the bike(don’t just meander at a comfortable pace until you get bored…)

Steal a pair of knees from a 20 year old. :-/

You can have my shitty knees. 22 and I’m already battling occasional knee issues

  1. Nutrition, Nutrition, Nutrition!
  2. Get a swim coach and swim A LOT
  3. Get up “early” to train everyday so it is in and done before anything else!! That way doesn’t get missed when life gets busy during normal family hours!!
  1. Finish the 100/100 with a gold or better
  2. Stop eating after 9pm…it’s quite possible I eat 50% more at night when I’m bored
3a. Sleep more…kids are finally sleeping through the night, but I stay up and watch tv for some reason.
3b. Not take myself so seriously, it is after all, a hobby
  1. swim more
  2. Improve nutrition plan for races.
  3. Finish races stronger.
