Holy shit! Why isn’t there an emergency stop button at the counter?
A couple years ago, I was flying into Chicago Midway. A kid, about that age, fell onto the conveyor belt at baggage claim. He went about 20 feet or so before he was grabbed by a person waiting for luggage. He was fine. But, that was simply the round baggage claim luggage carousel, not this.
Such horrible reporting.
The child was neither"swept away", or “dragged out of the room”.

Yes. They have the emergency stop buttons on the baggage claim carousels where the passengers go to gather their bags. But, in this case (the story in the OP), this was the baggage belt behind the ticket counter where your check-in bags are placed by the airline personnel after you check in for your flight.
