Your sunglasses match

Seeing that you can customize many Oakleys, namely the Jawbones how do you go about it? Match your helmet, favorite kit, bike or just go with what looks cool.

I go to Walmart and buy something in the $10 to $15 range since I’m going to lose or break them anyway. Never understood folks that shell out triple digits on freakin’ sunglasses.

Just my opinion.

You’re frickin panties. Seriously, do you really need ST appoval of how to match your sunglasses? I guess you should match them to the colors in your MDot tat and your compression socks and your Kinesio Tape.

Sorry for taking my frustrations out on you. It was a long weekend spent in Augusta with way too many MDot stickers, MDot shirts and compression stuff.

If you are going to match it to something, go with clothing preferably your race kit. It is really hard to go wrong with white frames. They are simple but not boring. You could match a detail color on your bike or kit with the logo or ear sock.

Don’t worry about what the above dorks have to say! If you are going to buy nice things, there is nothing wrong with them looking nice.

I hear you about the expense thing but after having a few pair of decent sunglasses (I usually go with smiths) it is really hard to go back to a cheaper set. I hate oakleys but I recently tried on a pair and WOW their lenses are amazing. I may have to step up into a pair of those!

Check out Rudy Project. I like those a little better than I like Oakleys. I won’t ride/run in anything but those two, the optics and the eye protection they offer make it worth the $$.

I agree. I rode for a year with a cheap pair, then got my Rudys and I can’t believe how I was able to ride/see with the old ones!

anything but white.
every pot-bellied poser out there is wearing white frame glasses.

get some oakley’s, the clarity is even better IMO. I think my vision goes from 20/20 to 20/10 with them on

I don’t know “matching” with the kit but there is more than a “color” change when it comes to Oakley lens tints. Every lens has a purpose, I usually first pick the lens tint I am going to use then get a decent frame color to match the lens.

My daily glasses are Oakleys, but they are a wire frame glasses, not for sports. I bought the chepos when I started Tris and obviously noticed the difference from my Oakleys, however the Rudys (I got with Laser Black lenses like my Oakleys) are just as clear to me.

That said I wouldn’t have discounted the Oakleys in my purchase choices, I just got a much better deal on the Rudys.

E: All of the above a long as its black
.

I trust Oakley and their service is great. My everyday glasses are the yardstick 2.0 and I love my Hijinks sunglasses for everyday wear and racing. I’ve had only 5 pairs of oakley’s dating back to 1994 so I can attest they are worth the money. I still have my the first pair I have ever owned…(M-frames). I even used the M-Frames as prescription safety glasses when I was welding and working offshore (they are ansi Z87.1 approved) You can’t beat the lens quality. Plus I can get prescription in just about every frame they make and my insurance covers them.

As far as matching…Flat black is where it’s at. If I am going to spend the money they better go with more than just racing gear.

I agree on their quality. My Square Wires lasted 8 years 2 sets of lenses before the right side broke off. I figure 8 years out of a pair of sunglasses, I got more than my money’s worth.
