I have an uncanny inability to be able to recognise faces.
Every time i see someone i think i recognise there’s like only an 80% certainty so my brain doesn’t see a match, and strangers often look 80% similar to people i know so being generally quite shy i’d not take the benefit of the doubt and i’d ignore them. If i see someone in a totally different place or context or if they’ve grown a beard then they would be strangers.
I’m fairly certain that If my wife was to walk past me in a hat i’d probably not recognise her.
my husband too. He has laser focus on anything right under his eyes, but periphery, faces, forget it.
my untalent is I can’t filter noise.
OMG me too - Don’t you hate open plan offices. I involuntarily simultaneously follow about 10 people’s trivial life stories all day… If it wasn’t for my Bose headphones i’d have gone postal a long time ago.

I am the opposite. Open plan here, I have learned to tune it all out. Unfortunately I also tune out my wife when she is talking and then ask her about stuff that she just said which completely gives away the fact that I wasn’t listening at all.
I can show zero emotion under any circumstance, whether good/bad or happy/sad. I am able to turn it on and of like a switch.
I think be able to turn it on/off is a talent! My untalent is that I have zero emotion under any circumstance. My untalent is I have a very hard time holding in farts.
I have the ability to glance at a post without really reading it and know what the thread is about. I don’t know why you started this thread, Windywave started one on the same, exact subject.

A large part of our brain is devoted to recognizing faces. It doesn’t work for some people, and there’s actually a syndrome associated with it called prosopagnosia.
I have the innate ability to forget what the hell your name is 10 seconds after you just got done saying it when we meet, because my brain is focused on saying something quasi-smart instead of listening and absorbing your name. If I don’t repeat your name back to you when I’m shaking your hand, there’s an excellent chance I’ll be referring to you as “dude†for the rest of the night.

Argh. I hate that one as I have it too. The problem is that my brain won’t remind me to record their name until 15 seconds after they’ve said it when it has already been forgotten.

I’ve got the same untalent. I will recognize someone I met for 10 minutes, 5 years ago, and remember the circumstances in which we met.
Yet somehow, I forget names 5 seconds after the person tells me…
I start perspiring before anyone else in the room does, and I don’t do it by half measures. If I got to have a quirky superpower that wasn’t an obvious one like being able to fly or something, I’d want to be the least sweaty person in any given situation.
