I’m looking for my first pair of winter tights as the temps in MI continue to plumet. I have no idea what I’m looking for, I just know that the Desoto 400mile shorts/bibs are my absolute favorite. Any reccomendations?
For absolutely brutally cold weather the Pearl Izumi amfib bibtight is hard to beat. Lets you wear whatever shorts you like, prevents gapping, and the water/wind proof front and thermafleece back make for a great combination and keeps the vitals toasty…
These days I use these Giordana bibs - not to expensive and they keep me warm (with Assos underneath) in minus 5 degrees (today).

They are very warm and fuzzy.
You should clarify for biking or running.
In MI you’ll need two. I prefer Sugoi – midzero (both for running and biking versions) for 30-45 degrees, Subzero below that. Get the flash version with the reflective material. Also use tri-shorts under if wind protection is necessary when running.

How about DeSoto’s fleece tights? I like those for the coldest in Chicago, which based on your location conditions should be similar.
The only thing that DeSoto’s don’t have is an ankle zipper, which I really appreciate in my Zoot insulated tights.
I only have one pair and they’re Zensah. I like 'em, but I’m not sure they’re so great for MI in the winter, except at noon after a warm front comes thru.
for me, if it’s under 35 I wear the desoto fleece tights. Between 35-50, I wear some hind tights. I can’t remember the name, they have a brushed light fleece on the inside.
If you don’t like being cold, wear the desoto. They are super warm. I have to take them off immediately when I get back from a run or I’m dying.
your results may vary. Plus, both kinds of tights are on their 4th season.

Descente. E-bay has CSC tights descente brand going real cheap. I got a pair and they are great. Other than that Desoto!
