Maker’s Mark.
Ice.

Maker’s Mark.
Ice.

If you are pouring Maker’s Mark over ice, I hope to hell you are using distilled water.

Agreed, Southern Comfort on the rocks or a good cold beer, or both.

JSA, you crack me up. MM over ice, perfect. The sin is w/ anything else. Of course I have a spring house in my back yard, so all my ice is primo!

However, if you really want to livin’ up a party and see boobs:

Fill a blender 2/3 w/ ice
8 oz. frozen limeade
Fill to the top of the ice with rum (1.5L should make 3 batches)
Fill to the top of blender with frozen strawberries
Blend

that’s weird. I typed all the ingredients for a mint julep.

powdered sugar
mint
ice
makers mark

is what I thought I typed.

I do like it in a mint julep. And not just for the Kentucky Derby.

OK, let me be a little more specific.

In the winter we have a dinner group that meets once a month. The evening usually starts off with an off the wall drink, something different.

While I can appreciate all you bourbon and rocks people, (me too), I’m looking for out of the ordinary drink recipes.

Ahhh … Ok, in that case, I have two for you (from a training buddy of mine) -

Poopy Puppies:
large shots of the following -
Amaretto
Butterscotch Schnapps
Kahlua
Bailey’s
and a splash of Coke.
Best served in a pint glass on the rocks.

Asian Hurricane:
In a hurricane glass, pour in this order -
two shots of Midori
two shots of Malibu Rum
Orange Juice (equal to the amounts of Midori and Malibu you just poured)
two shots of Vodka
a splash of Grenadine

The Hurricane sounds wonderful!

Everytime I make Moscow Mules, everyone says they’ve never heard of it and never had one, but they like it.

Pitcher
Fresh sprigs of mint
Limes
Mash mint and limes
1/2 - 3/4 ice
Hangar One Vodka (my preference)
Ginger BEER (not ale) to fill
Mix
Serve
Yum.

We had that one last year. Great drink!

The Jolly Rancher

1 shot apple vodka
1 shot peach schnapps
2 shots cranberry juice

Serve in a highball glass over crushed ice.
