If you had to choose between Powercranks or SRM power meter cranks which would you choose?
Would you race with them?
No Powertaps with Powercranks. Just the two offered.

I’d vote for the powertap, but I’m an accounting student who geeks on numbers (like taking my BP every day).

SRM - you definitley should race with them. Instead feedback, easier pacing etc.
SRM, hands down. Powercranks may work, but SRM gives you the data to back up your training plan. That, in the end, is far more valuable to continued improvement.

ditto.
Team Secondhand Racing is choosing between Powercranks and SRM power meter cranks? That doesn’t sound very second hand to me! ![]()
To quote a top-level world-class cyclist, in a personal conversation held in December, 2002, “Anything that helps with efficiency is a good thing.”
Either device can help with your efficiency…Powertaps work by letting you know when you are going too hard so that you don’t burn too much fuel too fast. PowerCranks work by letting you know how to pedal more efficiently, and, with work, maybe allowing you to also produce more power.
Whatever works for an individual, works. You have to ask yourself, what do you need most? An alarm to hold you back, or a way to learn to waste less of the power your extensors are generating?
If I had a power meter, I’d race with it. With PowerCranks, right now, I could race with them only if the race was hilly…I wouldn’t race with PCs in a flat race…yet.
I wish! No just wondering.
After 10 days of use, I would say Powercranks. These suckers are by far one of the best tools I have found in a long time.
Current Findings
After 10 days of use, I feel my running has improved (It just feels more snappy).
My cycling sucks right now, since I haven’t develop the muscle stamina to go very far, but it is improving after each session with the PCs.
