Can’t anyone think for themselves anymore? Is common sense non-existent in the world of biking and triathlon? Why can’t we do anything without looking for affirmation, recognition, substantiation etc…? Why can’t we just go out and ride our friggin bikes and have a good time without analyzing and fretting over every aerodynamic, gram-counting, wheel-combo, tire width and color, bottom bracket flexing, carbon vs aluminum vs titanium vs steel, nuance known to man? Just go out and get on whatever bike, wheel, pedal, tire, helmet combo you own…… race and have fun!!! Sheesh
Simple and makes good sense, but why in the world do you bother with this forum if that is how you feel? what topics suit your fancy?

awesome…still laughing…
Thanks - jaretj should get the credit for hunting that down he did the leg work. I simply took advantage of his work.
Plus I wanted to quote him before he edited his post.
man we are one tough crowd- I am holding my breath for my own screw up.
ha!
Touche indeed…bpq made me laugh right off the bat and obviously, some of you have tooooooo much time on your hands. That’s why I love this forum…entertaining, enlightening, and hopefully we can all laugh at ourselves as we look back. I admit that there was a point when I was one of those guys who asked those kinds of questions…looking for affirmation to a decision that I was going to make anyway, for purely emotional reasons, despite whatever advice I may have gotten on this forum. I’d like to believe I’ve matured and stopped worrying about all those things and just went out and raced and rode and was happy with whatever equipment I have, but I reserve the right to look for affirmation in the future when the latest greatest carbon fiver wonder hits the market. For now, I kept the Dual and am quite happy. Sold the CR1 for a Merlin Cyrene…I think we’ll be together for a long time. Sorry for the rant…and no…my seat is not too high.

Very good answer - way to go!
I to reserve the right to be unsecure about spending 7000$ on new carbon… for now…
It’s not so much looking for affirmation, but trying to make sense of an industry that has a good ten times as many different products on the market as there were ten years ago.
Slowtwitch cured my husband’s nasty chronic hip pain.
(It was running shoe suggestion thread for a neutral-footed tall guy)
So why not bounce ideas off a group of people who have tried different products and see if they come up with something I wouldn’t have thought of?
