Yes Aero Helmets!

I’m not advocating all “aero helmets.”
There is no excuse for those BMC pontoons, and I’m really not digging the Specialized helmets either, but aero helmets are the way to go.

Less vents= less bugs sucked into your helmet.

Ear covers= not having to worry about red-wing blackbirds.

Tails= not getting rain water down the back of your neck.

I’m sorry Tibbs, but you can’t argue with the facts.

So when is Lance’s Giro helmet going to be available to the public?

I bet it would cost at least $300. I really like Dave Z’s Bell Aero helmet, CSC has all the cool toys.

Dave in VA

Spring '06. If the Bell helmet is any indicator (the Bell Meteor II will be for sale Fall '05 in Europe), the helmet will cost about $200. That is the price of the Meteor II in Europe for preorders…

They may not sell the helmet from this years TdF. It may be the “Advantage” which they rode in the Tour of Georgia. Tobjorn Sindballe, sponsored by Giro, has also been riding this helmet this year…

I heard that the CPSC isn’t going to certify any aero helmets for the US. I think they didn’t like the tails.

I’d love to get a Bell helmet, paint it Olive Drab and paint the ‘jaws and teeth’ on the side with some evil eyes on the front.

I’d better be pretty damn fast to wear a helmet like that!

I have the specialized helmet. It looks awesome but doesn’t fit my dome properly… had it shipped to me from the UK since they aren’t sold in the U.S. If anyone is interested in it, send me a pm.
