Last week at work (Nike) we began the YELLOW campaign with Lance. It is to promote the battle against cancer.
As you are all very aware, Lance is a cancer survivor and he spends a lot of his time and energy helping others to find a cure and to be a spokesperson to the millions who have it. To quote from his website:
"Lance knows that yellow is more than just the color of the leader’s jersey in the Tour de France. It’s a symbol of hope, courage and perseverance - whether you’re on the bike or in the oncology ward.
As a tribute to Lance’s inspirational fight against cancer, yellow wristbands engraved with his mantra, Live Strong, will be sold in an effort to raise $5,000,000 for the Lance Armstrong Foundation!
Today, nearly 10 million people are living with cancer, and chances are you know one of them. The Lance Armstrong Foundation helps people with cancer focus on living. We believe knowledge is power and attitude is everything. Join us in our work to provide the practical information and tools they need to live strong.
Show your support by wearing a yellow Live Strong wristband and share one with your friends and family."
You can purchase the bands (US $1.00) from the following link below. I have had mine on all week and I can’t tell you how many people have asked me where to get them, expressed what a great idea it was and were in total support. Most likely, every single one of us on this forum knows someone who has been affected by this serious disease - many who probably didn’t survive it. Show your support by getting a wristband if you can. 100% of the purchase price goes towards the Lance Armstrong Foundation. Yellow just isn’t the color for the leader of the tour - it’s hope. It’s courage. It’s strength.
