Xterra Wetsuits?

I have the Vendetta and its to say the least perfect! I have used B70, 2XU, and Ironman but this suit is the bomb in comparison. The fit, flexibility and the flotation is perfect combo for me. B70 suits are either flex or bouyant but Xterra mixes all great features for one stellar suit!

I have a Vortex 3 also, and I’m also a happy customer. I gambled a bit and ordered it online having never seen one but I thought based on their 30 day return policy if it wouldn’t fit I’d just send it back.

But it fit great, and I’ve used it for 5 races (olympics and half ironman distances) in weather conditions ranging from 52 degree water temp up to 70. It was always great, never too hot, never too cold.

Thanks for the feedback. How much did you pay for your Vortex 3? I am interested in getting a full-sleeved suit for my first half Ironman this year (Racine), but having just graduated I don’t exactly have $400 dollars to put down. I am hoping to snag one of these deals you all speak of :).

I am happy with my Xterra Vortex too. Like others, I think that the whole MSRP BS is annoying. But that’s the way things work in this country: a high MSRP and always a sale so everybody can feel good about having had a “deal.”

Now, can we get pics of xterraliz in her wetsuits? You know, for marketing purpose and help people pick the right one.

I bought my Vortex earlier this year in anticipation of my first OLY in Santa Cruz back in september. I actually drove down to SD and bought it from the showroom. They were super helpful and the size they suggested fit perfectly. The first OW swim I did I kept thinking about how I felt like I was cheating. The fit is great, it’s plenty warm, and the flexibility is awesome. I convinced several family members to buy xterras as well and they have zero complaints.

I’ve read only good things about the Vendetta. It is interesting that this is one of their only wetsuits in which they do not offer a 50% discount. They do offer 15% for people who are a member of a sponsored tri club and have the coupon code.

It’s easy to get the Vendetta at ~30% off ($500 instead of $750). And really, given that the code for that is out there at all times, I wish Xterra would simply get their prices down by 35%, and then, sure, add a true sale from time to time w/ an additional discount, rather than the “35-50% off all the time if you spend 5 minutes looking on Google.”

I used my good friend Google and found the code. 33% off on the Vendetta. Interesting. So, I have to agree with Frenchman that they should lower their prices and stop playing games. These games just cheapen their image. There is an on-line clothing company called Jos A Bank that has a sale every single day. Yes, I get an email every day about their “new” sale. It just is silly, stupid and disgusting.

The code “BT” is listed in a thread on its eponymous forum.

In defense of Xterra… A lot of people shop by buckets, and definitely for websuits it seems that everybody has three tiers: entry-level, midlevel (what most of us start with, since we believe in $2,500 entry-level bikes :p) and top level. If you look across the industry, the prices for those level align pretty well too. And there is a stigma against cheaper products: check out ProMotion’s reputation as a “cheap” (in the pejorative sense) wetsuit. Xterra may be trying to look high end (MSRP) while competing effectively with other companies that have limited distribution and production costs (ProMotion). Still, I wish pricing was straight up. To me it is a matter of respect of the consumer. This being said, it’s the same for skis, for bikes, for running shoes, for… everything? And then there’s the odd company like Desoto that you can’t find on sale, and we’re not happy with it :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah, I found it, see my message directly above yours. “eponymous” is funny.

Once you actually purchase one you will get their emails to show you how they’re almost always on sale  Somebody who knew I was looking into one forwarded it to me. I’m sure if you want to know the next time they are on sale Liz will be able to help you if you can’t find a coupon code anywhere.

The continuous sale doesn’t bother me on the other hand. When I see the mail I’m always reminded I made a good purchase, and if I want to upgrade in the distant future I’d do it when I get one of those mails.

I got this code recently when I bought my Vendetta for 500 bucks ( PEF-MCUS)

.

“eponymous” is funny.

I felt like using a fancy word today. This way, I don’t forget them.

Liz, here is a small photo from when I got done with The Tampa Bay Frogman 5K Swim this past Sunday.

My wetsuit served me VERY well. The water temp was 55 degrees and I was perfectly comfortable.

My kayaker took some pictures while I was swimming, but I don’t have them yet. I don’t even know the person who took this one, but someone found it on Face book, and I decided to use it as my avatar.

Jay,

Great picture! Can we post it on our facebook page??

Congratulations!!! Hope you didn’t freeze!
Liz

Sure.

I didn’t freeze at all and I can’t wait to do it again next year. It’s a great event!

I own a Vendetta and a Vector Pro 2 sleeveless. Love them. But in the end the best wetsuit is the one that fit’s the best. When I was race fit I never felt my Vendetta, but in the offseason it was too tight on my holiday induced larger body.

I think I spent $300 on the Vendetta (maybe $350) and $200 on the Vector pro 2.

Jay,

I’m trying to get you some publicity with your picture on our facebook. Can you sent me an email at liz@xterrawetsuits.com?

Thanks,
Liz

Yes. And I posted a picture of me swimming that was taken by my kayaker on the XTerra FB page also.
