I’m planning to race XTerra USA at Tahoe but I don’t want to bring my mtn bike (it’s old and not worth the hassle and cost). I’m traveling from the East coast and will spend a week after the race visiting the region.
What are the bike shops that carry good rental XC bikes in the area (Incline village)? Thanks in advance

About bike rental, any recommendation on the right bike for the job up there? I see a few good looking FS on the website…
You could get away with a hardtail on that course if that’s what you’re used to (that’s what I will ride.) But if you want a full suspension bike I’d ask the guys at Village which is their most raceable bike. The Santa Cruz Blur is a great bike, but can be on the heavy side if it’s spec’d out for trail-riding versus a race setup.
The guys at village know the course really well, just call them up & ask them what bike they have in your size that they would think would be a good race bike for the course…

The decents are not very technical. Hard tail would be the call although a Superlight would work.
