I am going to force myself to jump into a few Xterra’s this year, around being a dad and some coaching duties. Here is the rig I hope to race.
Cannondale Flash 29er
SRAM XX
Stans Wheels
18.45 pounds complete.

Nice… I hope to see that on my new Dirty Bike Pjorn thread soon!!
BTW, they only gave you half a fork
Well I won’t be able to stand up in polite company for about an hour now, thanks a freaking lot.
That is absolutely sick! Especially including a toy you just ran over in the pic, a little foreshadowing of your future competitors me thinks?
Nice. Ever take it off any sweet jumps? ![]()

Me likey!
That’s very pretty indeed. That’s exactly the kind of bike I’d race xterra on. I have a geared SC Chameleon which is a bit too heavy to race on and a rigid steel 29er singlespeed, which isn’t exactly an ideal racer (fun though).
Something inbetween would be the ticket. Looks like you’ve found it. Loving the XX gruppo.
Amazing rig! Within a pound and a half of my crit bike. Wouldn’'t want to be chasing you up a long climb.
Lucky
.
are you freaking KIDDING ME?! Nice rig Kurt, glad to see another 29er, xterra northeast should be very afraid…
I am curious if you know how much the lefty fork weighs by itself. Apparently it is available now to purchase separate. I have been told by a Cannondale dealer that it is the lightest fork available, but cannot find any info to confirm.
great looking bike, gotta get it dirty now, here is how mine looked after Xterra Red River yesterday, lil muddy out there.

bike is **19 lbs dry **weighed it when I got home

All the Lefty for specs are here
.
My folks live near there (Sherman, TX area) and I had thought about doing that race. That mud, er clay, is ridiculous.
First lap was like peanut butter, next lap is when it started sticking bad, that poor trail got beat up badly.
On muddy days the hydration pack is your friend. I don’t usually race with one, but I do when it is nasty. I just hate drinking out of bottles that look like that.

Yeah I got plenty of other things in my water, also my gu I had taped to the top tube plenty of mud and other fine things to go with it.
Since your not likely to go to Xterra Richmond, can I borrow it???
um, no…but you can use my Salsa Mamasita:-)
.
I figured. It would probably end up like my felt did down there a couple of years ago.
oooohhh. right. now I remember.
i dont have a bike for you to borrow:-)
