soooo hilly, thats basically all there is to say about the run itself
well run event. aid stations were in just the right spots, course was marked extremely well, not once was i in question as where to go, friendly staff and awesome job by the volunteers. xterra holds a great series. im loving it
only downer on the day was the fact that santa ana winds were howling. so youd get burts of back wind and then insane head wind.
as for me i ran a 1:48+ landing me 2nd in my age group(20-24) and 16th overall
Nice work and nice RR. I finished 2:05, so my friends were pretty accurate telling me to expect to be about 25 minutes slower than my normal half time.
Brutal climbing and fast descents, I’ve never done anything like that. And yes the winds were the strongest I’ve ever run in. I was practically blown up short hills and the headwind at the end was amazing.
I had a great time, I’m definitely in for more Xterra trail races.
Good race, thanks for the report. Xterra trail races seem to be taking off. It will be something if they surpass the tri’s which don’t seem to grow much.
