X-lab SP400/DSW SP483 reviews?

The X-lab Stealth Pocket 400 and DSW Speedpack 483 both look like good products-but do they stay up on the top-tube?

I’ve only had experience with the fuelbelt bento box that straps to the steerer tube. I was wondering how effective these products were sans steerer tube strap.

Any thoughts are greatly appreciated.

I’ve been pretty happy with my DSW 483. It does the job, stays in position through anything, and I don’t notice it. I did a little write up when I first got it here.

using DSW Speedpack 483 and haven’t encountered slippage issues. I’ve set it up according to their guide and have used it storing gels, tube/co2, etc.

The Speedpack 483 stays on the top tube with the help of a strap system that we developed, and it is unlike that used by any other brand of bag on the market, now or previously.

We did a lot of testing on the 483, so we can assure you that, when installed correctly (not hard to do), the 483 will be rock-solid on your top tube. Other packs have the issue of being ok in the beginning, but then, once rotation around the top tube begins, it gets worse and worse if you’re on roads with any bumps at all (i.e., nearly all roads). If you have any doubts about the design and function of our packs including the 483, take a look at some of our unsolicited customer reviews. We are also one of the very very few bike accessory companies that actually design and manufacture our own stuff, we make them all here in the Chicago area.

And if you have any other questions, please don’t hesitate to ask.

thanks for your interest,
