Anyone know of the snow conditions in LP. I’m looking into a couple of days to get some motivation back from this miserable weather. I think there is a couple of centers in LP, any suggestions on where to go? I will only be doing skating.

I grew up there and still get back to ski once or twice in the winter. For skating, your best bet is the Olympic Center at Mt. van Hoevenberg. You can click through to the current conditions using the ORDA gateway website at www.orda.org. Other options are the Cascade touring center which adjoins the Verizon complex at Mt. van Hoevenberg. If you are inclined to venture more back country the Jack Rabbit trail journeys through LP on its way from Saranac Lake to Keene.

Looks like heavy rain up there this week, with temps around 50.
I’m looking to go in mid December. The rain this week is getting on my nerves…
